The purpose of the Opera Columbus Irma M. Cooper Vocal Competition is to discover, recognize, and encourage young operatic talent through cash prizes and audition experience.

2012 Competition dates: March 24 (preliminaries) & March 25 (finals), 2012

All applications must be postmarked by January 17, 2012

Semi-Finals and Finals will be held in Weigel Hall, on the campus of The Ohio State University.

The Opera Columbus Irma M. Cooper Vocal Competition attracts exceptional artists, helping to launch the careers of many of its competitors, as well as promoting their artistry. Former winners include internationally renowned superstar Denyce Graves and Metropolitan Opera artists Dina Kuznetsova, Richard Paul Fink, Susan Foster, Lucas Meachem, and Alyson Cambridge. Admission is free to season subscribers.
