Improv Opera NEW! (Grades K-12)
Once upon a time a tenor named Nico found a magic mirror and wanted to use its power to escape from a wicked gnome. Unfortunately the baritone mailman named Oscar wanted the magic mirror in order to destroy it. A mezzo named Dr. Michelle Smith told the two to take their case to court to be heard by the soprano teacher. She ruled in favor of Nico. All four expressed their joy or anger over the final judgment in the opera called “The Magic Mirror.”

This is one of hundreds of possibilities when you mix four opera singers, fill-in-the-blank and multiple-choice. Students are introduced to the elements of opera and basic voice types while creating their own story for the four singers to perform.

“Funny!”, “Brilliant!”, “Amazing!” are just some of the words used to describe Opera Columbus’ newest program.

SCHEDULING INFO: The program runs approximately 50 minutes and requires a tuned piano in the performance space.

FEE: $300
