About the Concert
Known for his sensational tenor voice that many considered equal to the legendary Enrico Caruso, Mario Lanza (1921 – 1959) was a matinee idol who enjoyed immense popularity in the late 1940s and 1950s. He portrayed Caruso in the 1950 biopic, The Great Caruso, and appeared in other feature films. Lanza’s artistry will be re-lived in a special tribute concert performed by three renowned tenors (Randolph Locke, Gerard Powers and Eduardo Villa) as well as video clips featuring the legendary tenor himself.
The concert will be conducted by William Boggs and accompanied by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
