About the Opera
Shakespeare’s immortal tale of ill-fated love is told through the sensual music of the great 19th century composer Charles Gounod. The opera features some of Gounod’s lyrical music and captures the themes of love, fate, light and dark in this most famous of love stories. This lovely work is the perfect choice for a romantic Valentine’s Day weekend.
Sung in French with English supertitles, the opera will be accompanied by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
