High School age students (14-18)
Opera Columbus is excited to continue its collaboration with Capital University on the 2010 Capital University/Opera Columbus Summer Vocal Academy. The Summer Vocal Academy is a training program for highly motivated high school singers. The Summer Vocal Academy curriculum focuses on audition techniques, and includes classes in drama, movement, ear training, sight singing, and diction. Students participate in master classes, scenes from operetta and musical theatre, and receive individual voice lessons and coachings. Opera professionals present workshops on relevant topics including auditioning, improvisation, and acting.
WHEN: June 27 – July 3, 2010
WHERE: Capital University
TUITION: $375 per student + $20 non-refundable application fee.
Live auditions* will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2010 and Monday, May 17, 2010.
*Audition appointments may be scheduled by calling 614.461.8101 x22 after April 15, 2010.
